About this Item

"No. 11" on title page. 11, [1] p.: music for piano; 32 cm. Disbound from a larger volume. Faintly at head of title: "For Mr. G. Fisher." The composer, Johann Baptist Cramer (1771-1858), was born in Mannheim, but spent most of his life in England. Cramer's arrangement of the traditional English song "You Gentlemen of England" is for piano, without lyrics. George Willig (1764-1851) was active as a music publisher and seller in Philadelphia from 1794 until his death in 1851. No date of publication; 1818 is from library records and is consistent with Willig's use of "Musical Magazine" in the imprint. In Very Good Condition: disbound; light horizontal lines on title page; otherwise, clean. Bookseller Inventory # 004118
