About this Item

No place, no date (Schenectady, 1938), 23pp, illustrated with a color reproduction of the painting, The Twentieth Century Limited, by A. Sheldon Pennoyer, paper-over boards, paper label at front, moderate general wear and soiling, foxing noted at front cover, spine has apparently been repaired neatly. Includes a brief biographical sketch of the author. From the preface, "December thirteenth, nineteen hundred and thirty-eight, was an eventful day in the annals of the American Locomotive Company. The citizens of Schenectady, through their Chamber of Commerce, set this day apart to commemorate the 90th Anniversary of the founding of the locomotive industry in Schenectady." This book is a record of the events, including the speech by the present author, who was President of Schenectady Savings Bank, and Councilman of Schenectady. Copy is inscribed and signed by the author at the front fly, "To my friend / ____ _____ / with sincere regard / from Mills Ten Eyck." Very scarce. Bookseller Inventory # 017822
