Der Sohn eines Kaufmanns legte das Abitur in Leipzig ab und studierte die ersten drei Semester an der Universität Freiburg. An der Universität Leipzig setzte er 1932 sein Studium fort. Dort wurde er besonders von Rudolf Kötzschke geprägt. --- Lorenz Hubert Weinrich (* 20. August 1929 in Salzwedel, Altmark) ist ein deutscher Historiker.
