Many b & w plates (line drawings) throughout, and 1 folding plate at the end of Vol.II. Translated from the German of Kugler by a lady. Edited, with notes, by Sir Charles L. Eastlake. Paper tanned. Foxing to first and last pages of each volume, and to some plates and adjacent pages. Top edges gilt. Soundly bound in full red calf, with gilt decoration and lettering to boards and spines, inner dentelles over marbled endpapers. Boards scuffed at corners, and spines rubbed with surface damage in places. Each volume has owner's name of W. Allin Thompson on half-title. Seller Inventory # LBTS1221
