Leaflet (22 x 14,3 cm), printed on both sides. Codezeichen: 2562. Horizontal fold, some browning, overall in good condition. ¶ In the Second World War propaganda was a formidable weapon against the enemy. This rare anti-Nazi leaflet is a great case in point. ¶ It was printed in the USSR and scattered in the air on 12 June 1943 to weaken the German morale by caricaturing Hitler and listing his most important defeats. According to Kirchner no fewer than 2 million copies were printed. ¶ The front shows a caricature of an enraged Adolf Hitler, while the back lists three of Hitler s important defeats: Stalingrad, Tunisia, and the air war. ¶ Kirchner, Flugblätter aus der UdSSR, p. 404.

Based in Amersfoort, The Netherlands, I offer quirky, unusual, interesting and rare books and ephemera from four centuries. I have a BA (Hons.) in German and an MA (Hons.) in Book and Manuscript Studies (University of Amsterdam). Having worked as a bibliographer at the National Library of the Netherlands and as a cataloguer and dealer at Antiquariaat Forum, I have broad experience in the world of rare books.
