Synopsis: The Sea of Cortez Review is an annual anthology of stories, essays, poetry, and art that celebrate life in a unique part of the world. The international group of writers represented have styles as varied as their subjects, which include whale-watching, hiking, and driving in Baja California. The first collection was conceived in 1998 by publishers Russel and Jennifer Redmond as a one-time gift edition, but the enthusiastic response of readers, writers, and booksellers to this "labor of love" prompted another issue which advertisers helped support. This year collection includes an interview with Harry Crosby, author of the "Cave Paintings of Baja California," and excerpt and review of Gene Kira's latest, "The Unforgettable Sea of Cortez," and the further adventures of Graham Mackintosh, walking the Baja peninsula with his burro, in a follow-up to his popular narrative "Into a Desert Place". Most pieces in the Sea of Cortez Review will be published here for the first time. One, by renowned Baja California scholar W. Michael Mathes, will be translated for the first time into English. A delightful mix of fiction, history, memoir, and art.

Review: I (who've never been there) feel the special charm and enchantment that Baja obviously possesses come enjoyable publication. -- Small Press Review

It's a nice folksy read... Well worth the $4 to remind us that there are simple pleasures...found close by. --Pasadena Star-News/SAn Gabriel Valley News
