About this Item

First Printing. Originally published first in England in 1927, this is identified on the title page as the first Revised Edition, with no reference to any earlier American publication, and includes a brief "Introduction to the Revised Edition" by Morton dated 1935; so this may be in fact the first American edition. A Fine copy in reddish-orange cloth stamped in gilt, in a Very Good or better dark dull orange dustwrapper, not price-clipped, unfaded, with several small tears and tiny loss to spine-ends. 317pp. with some black and white photographic plates. The England volume was among Morton's most successful. "In the spring of 1923 I believed that I was dying in Palestine." So begins a narrative of travel around England. Scarce in this condition.
