About this title
In the course of human history, philosophies of politics and societies evolved. By examining how the core of democracy, capitalism, Communism, etc. had evolved, the book proposes a new way of looking at the commonalities of all political philosophies, past and present. And in doing so, the book shatters the common illusions about modern political institutions and organizations, going beyond the slogans and fanatical partisan politics. The author asks: Is there more than human intuition that defines the limits of government and politics? What are the true boundaries that define the balance of power? What makes a political system successful, even temporarily for a dictatorship? And what makes it fail? And the biggest question, what's NEXT in the evolution of modern Republics and Democracy? Through examples of historical events from across the world, transcending business, culture, economy, military, diplomacy, and religion, a theoretical answer emerges in the search of a new way, to spark debates across many nations.About the Author:
Chen Gu is a manager for Intel Corporation in Folsom California. He came to the United States with his parents at the age of 12 from Shanghai China. He completed his Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida at the age of 22, and then began his career as an engineer with the Intel Corporation. From youth, he had maintained extensive interests in everything from history, politics, philosophy to sociology. His management work increased his interests in the philosophies of TQM (Total Quality Management). So he compiled his study on the evolution of organization management from the historical perspective, to critique on modern business management philosophies and to explain the commonalities of all political systems. He works on automation and TDQM (Total Data Quality Management) in large scale business processes, and teaches a training class on the evolution of TQM philosophies. In January 2003, he took a sabbatical from work and wrote this book.
