About this title

Synopsis:

Searching for Sylvia Sylvia Webster has loved and lost-lost perhaps more than her heart. The man who seemed like The One when they met turned out to have a sinister side that threatens Sylvia and anyone who tries to protect her. The question plaguing her is how far would he go to hold on to her? Would her kill her Aunt Del? Would he kill her? Teachers enter her life at just the time she needs them most. They reveal to her a realm beyond the veil separating our physical third-dimensional world and the world of ghosts and goblins. More accurately, the lessons are about the world of entities living in higher dimensions willing to help solve any problem-if only you know how to ask. Would Sylvia learn how to ask in time? Watch for the thrilling surprise end. And what other paranormal battles can these new psychic skills prepare her to win?

About the Author:

Lorena was born in Hollywood, California, and spent her youth as a member of her family’s dancing act on stage and screen. She is mentioned in columns by Louella Parsons and was photographed in advertisements and films of the era. In college her life took a detour into graduate school and then into the life of an academic. She started writing as a child and used those skills to write technical reports and scientific papers during her time in the university system. From there another detour led to writing fiction. Thirty years ago, she determined to use words to entertain and wrote her first novel. It is safely tucked away in a file drawer, but it was the beginning of her development as a storyteller on paper. At about the same time, she learned to draw and paint. This foray into the art world helped her see her surroundings more clearly. Her experiences have enabled her to collect characters all along the path. Some of these observations lay the foundation for an inspirational fiction, GAFF—Wisdom from the Sea published in 2010 under the name Lorena Peter, as well as, over thirty short stories published in the years succeeding Gaff's release. More recently, she has turned to building mysteries and thrillers laced with romance. Searching for Sylvia is the beginning of Sylvia’s adventures and gives the reader a feeling for how she developed psychic gifts allowing her to receive information to be used by law enforcement in solving crimes. The View from Afar is the second in the series. An Invasion of Privacy is the third. Each of these adventures is different and forces Sylvia to grow in new ways. Join her to see where all this leads.
