[Poetry] EARLY REPRINT. Octavo in half sheets (22 x 15cm), pp.xiv [2] 233 [5]. With fourteen copper engravings including a frontisportrait, title-page vignette, and three illustrations per season. Later black half-morocco, borders gilt-ruled. With marbled paper over boards, gilt titles and bands to spine. Light toning throughout with faint, infrequent spotting. Two small ownership signatures to front endpaper. Top edge toned. Rubbing to boards and joints, heavy edgewear. Very good. A series of four blank verse poems which first appeared between 1726 and 1730, by the Scottish author responsible for the well known lyrics of 'Rule, Britannia!' set to music by Thomas Arne in 1740.
