A good complete six-volume set of the extremely scarce Peuser Argentinian edition. The variously colored cloth bindings are somewhat worn and sunned, but remain completely sound. Inside, the contents are clean and unmarked, with no ownership inscriptions or other markings of any kind. While Winston S. Churchill was a prolific author, his 'Memoirs of the Second World War' were probably the most important work he ever produced. As historian David Reynolds says, "The volumes combine wartime documents and postwar reflection; they incorporate the work of Churchill and of his assistants; they reflect the deadlines imposed by his publishers and by his own political agenda; they involve self-analysis as well as self-justification.
