Synopsis: 67 color plates of pastel paintings and one oil painting by Milton Meyer. 38 color and black and white photos relevant to the subject matter of the paintings and of the artist, and descriptive text. Meyer's work is very realistic, and the book serves as a veritable travelogue of the US, Europe, and Africa, as well as a moving tribute to his late wife, who was responsible for Meyer embarking upon his career as a pastellist.
Meyer's first career, after two stints in the military as an offier in the paratroops, was as a tax and corporate attorney, including heading his own large Denver law firm. He has been a full time pastellist since 1983, and, without the benefit of formal training, has become a signature member of the Pastel Society of America, the Pastel Society of the West Coast (designated as "Distinguished Pastellist"), and Knickerbocker Artists. He is also an artist Member of the Salmagundi Club, NYC NY, and a founding director of the International Association of Pastel Societies. His biography has appeared in various editions of Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in America,Who's Who in American Law, and Who's Who in American Art. His Highly representational work (an outgrowth, perhaps, of his earlier "left-brained" pursuits) reflects his extensive travels and is held by collectors across the United States and in a number of foreign countries. It has been reproduced in numerous art publications in the US and abroad.
