Approx 300 pages. Light brown grimed spine with dull gilt-coloured titles to spine. Text in Latin and notes in English. Looks like front pastedown and flyleaf has been removed, pencil name dated 1856 to preface pageNo dustjacket. Restuck spine. Age-dulled light brown hardback binidng with big ink spill to front board and three small blots to back board to fore-edge. Heavy wear with small creases and rubs to spine-ends and boards'. Older child's pencil doodles to back end papers and they look mid-19th century ins style of hair and cloths - fascinating. Page-edges browned, occasional light marks and pencil annotations to some pages o/w pages clean and sound.
