Synopsis: Fairy Tales! It's a rare American indeed, one now grown to adulthood, 30 to 50 years old that was never tucked in snug and cozy to be read a fairy tale or two; or two thousand maybe? Face it, we all know the standards. Many of us could give the basic details of the most well-known. I mean check it out! You got your basic slobbering, whimpering princess. But don't worry; it looks like the bum stalking her is only in it for jewels, not blood. Besides, all them little lady types end up saved by shining knights of some ilk. Speaking of knights, do we have enough wolves in these tales? We've got more wolves in fairy tales than NYC's got Sharks and Jets. Right? The fact that these stories are entrenched in our minds makes fantasy authors crazy. Over the past centuries fantasy writers have tried their best to save the genre; sending fresh blood pulsing through its ancient veins. Hopeful writers have 'fooled around with' the traditional. They subverted scenes, punctured plotlines, contorted characters, misaligned alliances, and even had the nerve to 'fool with finales' Is there no Literature God? This author has thought how to invigorate fantasy. His wife has 30 years working in the 'Active Adult' Industry. One night over dinner he mentioned Cinderella. She instantly replied, "You mean, Seniorella, don't you" Well, a seed was planted, a switch flipped. Why not fairy tales, but aged just like us? Everything old . . . is new again . . . is old again!

About the Author: One of seven talented children in a very active social family, Stephen took to the Performing Arts at an early age, performing solos during Sunday Services and on holidays with the church choir. A teller of long and complicated tales even as a child, the young Master Coar would take to the dinner table spotlight, as if he were on Broadway. He would excitedly relate his "adventures" of that day. Be they a mixture of twisting facts, or a complete dustbowl of fictional yet fascinating sounds filling both his parent's and his sibling's ears, his stories blinded their eyes temporarily. Since then he has been a writer his entire life; from creating school newsletters to writing a weekly newspaper column. Active in community theatres, he served as President to one after a long string of award-winning successes both acting and directing for the stage. As Outreach Director at The Ritz Theatre, Inc. the largest live professional theatre in Southern NJ. he was a liaison to local schools and interactive community events held either at the Ritz or taken on the road. His shows had audiences on stage with the actors or vice versa! Wow! Over his fifteen years there he had many of his own plays produced. Stephen left his position of co-founding member, director, and playwright, at the Ritz, and these days he writes freelance fiction full time. He is a member of the Garden State Storyteller League, an affiliate of the National League.
