Publisher's brown binding with illustration embossed on front cover and gilt lettering. Multicolored paper covered slipcase. Dimensions 10 x 13 1/2 inches. From the frontispiece, "We hereby certify that this copy number 455 of Sepik Diary by Frank Hodgkinson, signed and numbered by the artist, with the accompanying etching number 41/100 by the same artist, is part of the North American Collection of 600 copies of the book. The register of Collectors Edition sales has been audited by Touche Ross & Co." Etching is protected by tissue paper. Frank Hodgkinson (1919-2001) was an Australian graphic artist. In 1977, he undertook a 500 mile journey by canoe on the Sepik River in Papua New Guinea. This is the diary of that trip, published in the author's handwriting with colorful illustrations throughout.
