The cover story "The Sergeant with the Rose Tattoo" is here attributed to "Ward Stames" one of the various pseudonyms of Samuel Steward who also published as "Phil Andros" and "Phil Sparrow". In total 20 pages. besides Steward's story, there is also a story by Richard Arlen, who many agree played one of the very first gay, if closeted, characters in Hollywood, in the 1927 Academy Award wining film Wings. There are creases to the covers, some light soiling and nicks. Very uncommon piece of gay history, published in English by Der Kreis, the legendary Swiss publisher that was the only gay publisher that continued publishing during the Third Reich and published continuously from 1932 til 1967. Samuel Steward was the subject of the recent award winning book "Secret Historian the Life and Times of Samuel Steward, Professor, Tattoo Artist and Sexual Renegrade" by Justin Spring.
