Being a sermon given by the Bishop of Lincoln, Benjamin Laney (1591-1675), who was also the chaplain to both King Charles I and II. This sermon was given before King Charles II and was later reprinted by royal command. A staunch royalist during the Civil War, the Bishop, best remembered for his sermons, refers here to 'these Unquiet Distemper'd Times'. With binding remains, light soiling, author name added by unknown hand, else very good example of this rare title. NOT EX-LIBRARY.
