About this title

Synopsis:

Do you enjoy playing with language? Wordplay is an art-form savored by many. If you are in that rather select group, then this is the book for you! Each of these stories has a surprise ending, a modified clich or adage, a perverted pun or some other amusing twist. ENJOY! WHAT SOME READERS HAVE SAID ABOUT THIS BOOK! "The brain-dead who do not enjoy puns, word play, and a good groan need not read this book" -Dean Swift, Student "These are the Shaggy Dog Days of our lives" Jerry Blessinger, Teacher

About the Author:

GENE CHILD collected these "shaggy dog" stories with puns or other types of wordplay for punch lines during his 33-year teaching career in secondary schools in Kansas, Germany, Colorado, and Kenya. Physics was a difficult subject for many so he added some levity to his classes by telling these stories at the end of class every Friday. He feels that the creative use of humor in the classroom is essential for a well rounded education. GENE YOUNGMANN has been painting transparent watercolors since 1981 along the Front Range Mountains west of Denver. His subjects of choice are Colorado landscapes, vintage automobiles and aging architecture. He is a retired high school art teacher, having taught drawing for twenty-five years at Golden High School in Golden, CO. During sometimes tedious faculty meetings he perfected his ability to do pencil sketches of those around him. His web site is www.youngmannwatercolors.com. When together they are sometimes known as "A Pair of Genes"
