About this title

Synopsis:

A collection of political poems and love poems by a durable & resilient poetic voice --intimately alive and human. This is a writer who is clearly at home in every place and in every human situation.

About the Author:

Sheldon Wipranik is a Holocaust survivor. From 1942 to 1945 he lived as Ivan Orloff, half-Russian and half-German, and worked as a houseboy for a German general of the Luftwaffe. When the Russians liberated East Prussia he became an interpreter for the Russian armed forces within the KGB. At the end of World War II he returned to Poland in search of his family members, during which time he came close to losing his life. Upon returning to the American sector of Germany, he worked for the American Joint Distribution Committee until 1949. At the end of that year, he traveled to the United States, where he presently resides.
