Books reprinted include: A Hundred Mery Talys; Mery Tales and Quicke Answeres; Merie Tales of Skelton; Jests of Scogin; Sackfull of Newes; Carlton's Jests; Merrie Conceited Jests of George Peele; Jacke of Dover; Merie Tales of the Mad Men of Gotham; XII Mery Jests of the Wydow Edyth; Pasquil's Jests With Mother Bunches Merriments; The Pleasant Conceits of Old Dobson; Certayne Concepts and Jeasts; Taylors Wit and Mirth; and Conceits, Clinches, Flashes and Whimsies.With scholarly introductions on the bibliographic histories of each of the books reprinted in the volumes. These reprint the original source books that Shakespeare drew from when writing his plays. In GOOD+ condition. Moderate uneven fading to the covers, a bit heavier to volume one. Minor to moderate scuffing to the covers, with some scuffs and scratches to the leather along the spines and extremities. Previous owner's bookplates on the interior of each volume.
