First edition. Black cloth. No jacket. 256 pp. A noirish play set in a casino in Shanghai, China that follows the lives of transplanted and somewhat outcast Americans in a foreign land. Made into a 1941 movie of the same name. GOOD condition. Semicircular ring stain and area of discoloration to the front cover, resulting in some bubbling to the cloth in that area. General fading, minor soiling and scuffing. Several small spots of discoloration to the cloth. Minor edgewear. Paper toned. Owner's gift inscription present. Bookseller Inventory # 007650
