About this title

Synopsis:

The result of research and relationships, insight and we hope the leading the the Holy Spirit, this book is the reason for the research we do. To begin...even begin...to understand the world view of people from other cultures than our own requires more than a tract and a chance meeting. If nothing else, it requires intentional, honest, committed relationships, if there is to be hope for sharing the Gospel. It requires a personal intimate relationship with Jesus and personal holiness. When east meets west, the cultural differences are both obvious and subtle, and are rarely easy to bridge; but not impossible. Urban Indian women. They are as diverse as the cities themselves. This book does not represent every woman's economic, cultural or religious background. Or every city. But, it does represent a few. It is expected that you who read these pages will for the most part be women, and that you are praying for the women whom God has placed in your life. Pray well. The work you are undertaking is eternally significant, and you are likely to encounter a variety of obstacles to sharing the Gospel with them. Women are uniquely created by God, and each one has within her a world view that the Gospel must penetrate. It is not enough that she make a casual profession of faith, but that she be transformed from the inside out, forever devoted only to Jesus Christ. It is for the transformation of women that this book has been written, and it is intended for use as a "field manual" as you seek to share with "women of peace" in your city in India or elsewhere. First, get to know her well, so that you have some knowledge of what motivates the choices in her life. Develop a relationship. Next, you will search the listings in the Table of Contents and find a "profile" that comes close to describing your woman. Then, read the pages written for that woman's profile, knowing that it won't be an exact fit. These women are all different, remember? It is hoped that this book will inspire how you can use what your friend already believes as a bridge to sharing the Gospel with her, in a way that will connect with her heart. It is also hoped that the barriers to making a heart connection will become less formidable. Connect well!
