About this Item

Shiba Kokan lived from 1747 to 1818, a mere 71 years, and was (according to some) like the Leonardo da Vinci of Japan. Understand, he was not the artist to be compared to Leonardo, but he was still an artist of startling accomplishments. He played a formative role in the development of what we think of as 'Japanese Art' and he lagged behind no one in his wide knowledge and inquisitive mind. Remarkable contents here in this 1974 First Edition. DJ price-clipped, but now protected by our Mylar covering. Highly recommended. Bookseller Inventory # 002493
