From the Author: As a diehard teenage rock and roll fan in the 1970s, I was inspired by Chicago Tribune columnist Bob Greene's 1974 best-seller, "Billion Dollar Baby." Greene's story was based on his personal, first-hand experiences while (briefly) on tour with the original Alice Cooper band in 1973. The fact that Greene wasn't an actual band member made his story particularly compelling -- offering readers a truly unique "fly on the wall" perspective of life on the road with one of the most outrageous rock bands of that day.

My interest in rock and roll books continued into my adult life as I devoured such personal favorites as "Neon Angel" -- the 1990 autobiography by Runaways lead singer Cherie Currie, "Kiss and Sell" -- the 1997 behind-the-scenes tell-all by former Kiss business manager C.K. Lendt and "Lollipop Lounge" -- the riveting 2004 memoir by 1960s rock trailblazer Genya Ravan.

I've enjoyed a host of music industry-related experiences over the years and by the 2000s I'd become a regularly published rock journalist -- conducting rock star interviews and contributing features for various print and online publications. In 2009 I signed with CG Publishing to tell my own rock and roll story based on my personal twenty-year relationship with the platinum-selling band Poison. Entitled "A Shot of Poison," my debut book arrived in stores and at online retailers in the spring of 2010.

I consider it a privilege to have had the opportunity to connect with other rock and roll fans through my first book and I look forward to sharing more stories with readers through my future writing endeavors.
