About this title

Synopsis:

It should have been the happy ending to a long story. The world of two people shudders as problems are resolved only to be replaced by the complexity of new problems. When Meena's husband cannot father a child, her life is again beyond her control. What is wrong and what is deemed right by circumstance and human attachment? Is it best to follow a path of wisdom that leads upward in a lonely spiral or the unlit path of love that might lead to both enslavement and passion? You, the reader, must decide.

About the Author:

Jay Gajjar, C.M., M.A., native of Gujarat, India, immigrated to Canada in 1970. He was a brilliant student who passed his S.S.C. Examination with 75% and getting 200 out of 200 marks in Mathematics. While working as a High School teacher, he got B.A. (Hons.) and M.A. degrees with second class. He then started his career as a translator in the Directorate of Languages and then at the Gujarat University. While at the university, he worked as a professor of Gujarati at the local college. During this decade he wrote short stories for several magazines and published three novels to his credit.

After coming to Canada, he started his career as a teacher in Stephenville, Newfoundland in 1971. He did some courses at the Memorial University, leading to M.Ed. degree. His wife Kanta, who was a nurse at the local hospital, inspired him to change the field. With a hope of better future he joined local print shop. Very soon he gained mastery over printing business and started his own print shop - Quality Printers. This became a lucky year for Gajjar as he became a father of a Canadian boy, Neil who is now a dentist, practicing at his own Dental Clinic in Mississauga, Ontario.

Same year he joined a Lions Club and because of his devotion and service to the local community, he got good respect from the local people who invited him to join their organizations. Gajjar got deeply involved in public service and freely spared his time and knowledge for the good of the community and promotion of the several organizations. Because of his dedication, "Jay" name became household in the community. Judge Hon. Robert Smith writes, "Gajjar's love for the province and our nation is an extraordinary example of citizenship to all who know him... It's the spirit and work of Canadians like Jay Gajjar that make Canada a great nation." Mr. Gajjar has been, and still is, active in numerous prestigious organizations in Canada and India.
