Title: Signed Print.
Signed: Signed by Author(s)
Renowned and prolific caricaturist whose inimitable style captured hundreds of actors in the pages of the "New York Times" from 1929 until his death. Signed Print, heavy stock 6¼" X 4½", n.p., 1983 March 9. Fine. Untitled print of this Hirschfeld group scene from the 1979 production of Giuseppe Verdi's 1849 opera "Luisa Miller" depicting Placido Domingo and Renata Scotto in the foreground and Bonaldo Giaiotti, Sherrill Milnes and James Morris in the background. At lower right, directly above his tiny printed signature, Hirschfeld signs beautifully in his usual black fineline, dating it "3/9/83." RENATA SCOTTO (born 1934) signs huge and bold in black fineline across the bottom and JAMES MORRIS (born 1947) signs handsomely in black fineline across his caricature at right, just above Hirschfeld. A delightful piece signed by artist and two performers. Bookseller Inventory # 36445
