The book 'Silence to be Heard' is a story about a teenage boy struggling through high school. The story is told in Andrew's point of view. Andrew has social problems literally. He was diagnosed mute, but can actually talk perfectly fine. He hides this from everyone. Causing him to be bullied through out high school. He has had no friends since he has gone to this new school. But finally a new kid comes to school who is very much like Andrew. Jacob also chooses not to talk causing him to be bullied to. The two friends secretly talk to each other, with out any one knowing. They become best friends. They become close enough that Jacob tells Andrew his life changing secret of why he went to jail a year ago. And then suddenly one day Jacob does not come back to school. Andrew knows he needs to tell someone the secrets that he knows. But he has never spoken to anyone in his school, so who could he tell? He finally tells the only person he has grown to somewhat trust. This sends Andrew on a long journey of fighting for Jake. He may have no choice but to start talking. But can he really talk?

About the Author:

Stephenie E. Keller is from a small town in Ohio. Her creative/crazy mind led her to writing this book as her first novel. A couple characters in her book were inspired by people that have played a great part in her life. Like Jez the Beagle for example, was inspired by her pet beagle Lady. Who was her best friend for a long part of her life. Stephenie enjoys being part of a team in all of her high school sports. She works around horses almost everyday. And she has loved having math class since her early years of elementary school. She wants to go to collage to be math teacher and also wants to own a business working as a therapeutic riding instructor.
