This lithographic plate from Perry's Narrative of the Expedition of an American Squadron to the China Seas and Japan.depicts a large group attending the burial of an American marine in the Japanese port city. With graves on the right side, several buildings, four ships in the bay and mountains in the background. The image was from a painting by B. Heine.
