About the Author: Christopher Ondaatje was born in Ceylon, receiving his schooling and began his career in England, and emigrated to Canada in 1956. He has worked at several magazines and newspapers, including The Financial Post. In 1967 he founded Pagurian Press and the following year formed the Pagurian Corporation. He was a member of Canada's Olympic bobsled team that brought back Canada's only gold medal from the 1964 Winter Olympics, and is the author of The Prime Ministers of Canada, Olympic Victory, Leopard in the Afternoon, and The Man Eater of Punanai.
