About this Item

Also known as "The Day After Tomorrow", this novel was originally a serial published under a pseudonym and was intended for an adult audience (unlike the three books for which he was best known at time of book publication). The pages are generally clean, free from owners' marks, but bear two long, thin, dark smudges along the heel edge of the book, a pale water stain affecting the outside edges of the bottom free corner and another, smaller water spot on the top edge of the book, and modest toning in the margins throughout; the binding is mildly relaxed, but secure, the full black cloth cover showing some mild surface rubbing, softening and thinning of the cloth at spine ends, and some shelfwear at spine ends and corners, otherwise sound. The jacket shows shallow, open chips at the spine ends and free corners, four small, closed punctures along the left front, areas of visible moisture staining at the top and bottom of the front flap and around the upper free corner of the rear and the rear flap, additional rippling at the middle and lower right front with stain rims and some ink bleed from the dark cloth cover (visible only on the inside of the jacket), some spots of toning, handling prints, and occasional small spots on the rear and in the light-colored areas of the front, specking and a few surface chips at the lower spine, and lines of surface wear along the spine sides and foreedges, yet remains overall sound, vivid, unclipped ($2.50), and now protected in a clear sleeve. 256pp. Bookseller Inventory # 067785
