First published in 1880 as "A Short Sketch." authored only by ".an Old Oxonian," this reprint of 1886 is titled slightly different; includes an original Woodbury photographic print as the frontispiece; gives the authors names; and expands the subject's life through the year 1886. 96 pages, bound in card board covers with black paper surface and gold lettering and design. Lettering is just a little rubbed, though remains very clear. Covers show scattered wear along edges and spine ends. Blank end leaves are darkened. Volume remains tight and clean.
