About this Item

320 p. From Wikipedia: "After becoming an investigative reporter, Hiaasen began to write novels. His first three were co-written by fellow journalist William Montalbano: Powder Burn (1981), Trap Line (1982), and A Death in China (1986). Hiaasen's first venture into writing for children was the 2002 novel Hoot, which was named a Newbery Medal honor book and was adapted as a 2006 film of the same name (starring Logan Lerman). His subsequent children's novel were Flush; Scat; and, most recently, Chomp. All of his young-adult novels have environmental themes. They also have his characteristic unique characters and some theme of adventure. Good in good dust jacket. Signed by author. Nice inscription on half-title. DJ has some wear and soiling, some tears and chips. Presumed first U. K. edition/first printing. Bookseller Inventory # 71253

About this title

Synopsis:

1 HARDCOVER BOOK WITH DUST COVER

From the Inside Flap:

mean fun...A twisting, high-speed ride on a roller coaster without brakes."
SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE
Somebody wants Mick Stranahan dead, and the list of possible players is long: the plastic surgeon with the extremely shaky hands, the sleazy lawyer who advertises, the TV host whose taste for sensationalism is exceeded only by his vanity, and the hit man whose skin problems could fill a comprehensive (if bizarre) medical textbook.
The whole thing is downright harrowing. It's Hiaasen at his best. And his best is very, very good.
A Selection of the Literary Guild, the Doubleday Book Club and the Mystery Guild
From the Paperback edition.
