Interior clean and sound. ; 8 B&W Plates; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 512 pages; Lengthy satire on the so-called "wage-slave system" found in the North and abroad. An Appendix comprises the final 47 pages, consisting of Reports to Gov. Herschel V. Johnson, affidavits, legislative and constitutional acts, portions of Thomas R. R. Cobb's Inquiry into the Law of Slavery, etc. Scarce Southern defense of slavery written with humor, and often mistakenly attributed to William Tappan Thompson.
