Very very rare signed copy, extemely scarce and hard to find! 243 very fine, unmarked and uncreased extremely collectible pages! Inscribed by the author on the first page: "'If your pictures are no good you're not close enough' Bob Capa". Orange cloth with black lettering on the spine. "Slightly Out of Focus is a contradiction in terms, being the natural climax of a special kind of publishing achievement at the same time that it is a completely different sort of book. With it Henry Holt and Company will have published the three top reporters of World War II; Ernie Pyle, who wrote the war, Bill Mauldin, who drew it, and now Bob Capa, who photographed it and wrote about it too. This is not a book of photographs with captions. These are the hundreds of pictures Bob Capa took throughout the fighting in the ETO. They have been made into chapters and they alternate with the frank, airy, true story of a fabulous young man, Bob Capa, whose romance with a girl called Pinky kept getting involved with his trips to the fighting fronts.".
