Introduces his module system of design and construction, "everything fits and most things may be gotten out in the shop and simply stood in place.the system of building described in this work is intended for repetition." Designs are created on paper ruled with module lines and parts, which is replicated in the plans illustrated in the plates of the book. Flagg's goals for an economic house are: saving time in the preparation of plans and standardization of parts and methods; saving space; saving materials; saving labor; savings by the use of more economical devices, materials (especially the use of stone over wood), and methods. According to a slip of paper laid-in, his system is patented. Non-detracting stain on the front cover, two short surface scratches; minor wear to the spine ends and corners; leather label rubbed; prior owner's signature on the front cover paste down, small stain on the front free endpaper; non-detracting stain to the top edge corner of the last several pages.
