Copyright page: "Of this First Edition 497 copies have been printed, 400 copies of which are for sale. " Illustrations tipped in: sepia author portrait 2nd frontispiece (where signed at angle in black ink pen); frontispiece and 7 illustrations from paintings, each one-color tone, varying. Preface: The author lost his scrap-book of over 300 poems, most printed in various magazines, when a fire at the March 1896 Winchester Hotel, New York City. He could locate only about one-fifth in duplicates. This volume is a selection, dedicated to his three daughters. Good. No dust jacket. Signed by author. Exterior looks bad with damp stains at front corners and rear top corner. Edge soiling inside. Top end papers have discoloration spotting. Light top page edges short water stain.
