About this title:

Synopsis: "Once upon a time, forever and ever, in the faraway kingdom known as Nowhere and at the very Edge of Everything, it is early evening and a beautiful Girl-Child is at play."

So begins Songs from the Edge of Everything -- an interwoven collection of eight fantasies and fable-like stories, told by Marilyn M. Boess in the language of myth and magic and illuminated by the magnificent visionary art of Mary Saint-Marie/Sheoekah.

Together, the words and images of Songs reveal the timeless archetypes of the Divine Feminine birthing Herself into the world. Interwoven through the book is the unfolding story of the Girl-Child whose destiny it is to become Queen. This beautiful Girl-Child awaits her full blooming in the Garden at the Edge of Everything, where her beloved guardian spirit brings her a series of Songs, or stories, each of which reveals to her a different experience of the awakening feminine heart.

Songs from the Edge of Everything is the debut publication from Minstrel Press. Printed in full-sized 8-1/2 x 11" format, Songs is, truly, a booklover' treasure. Each story is lavishly illustrated with at least one full-color, mixed-media painting by visionary artist Mary Saint-Marie/Sheoekah -- a total of 11 interior color pages altogether. Mary's work Beauty-SHE . . . dreaming worlds . . . unto worlds also graces the full-color cover, with elegant metallic accents.

About the Author: Marilyn M. Boess has been a writer all her life. She studied fiction writing with Tobias Wolff, one of America's pre-eminent contemporary novelists and short-story writers. Her nonfiction articles were widely published in regional and national periodicals through the 1980s. In the mid-1990s a creative and spiritual reawakening opened up a new vein of gold for Marilyn in the realm of visionary fiction, drawing her deeply into explorations of the myths and archetypes of the human spirit. Since then, in addition to Songs from the Edge of Everything, she has completed a novel called Mask of a Thousand Angels, a contemporary dark fantasy drawing on ancient archetypes of the Divine Feminine. She is currently at work on a new novel called Willow Moon, a mythic fantasy set in 12th-century Scotland. Marilyn lives with her family in Glendale, Arizona, and welcomes questions, comments, ideas, and inspirations at mboess@minstrelpress.com.
