First edition of the poet's first book, insofar as a collaboration may be so regarded. Snow, who was working for the U. S. government at the time teaching Eskimos and counting reindeer up near the Arctic Circle, wrote 11 poems for this volume, and MacLennan contributed an additional seven. Snow went on to write several other books of poetry and became a friend of Robert Frost, Carl Sandburg and other literary luminaries. He also served as Governor of Connecticut. A fine copy without printed dust jacket as issued. As noted by John Van Kohn of the Seven Gables Bookshop in his pioneering second volume of first books of American authors, Snow later "tried to supress this volume, and it is very rare today.".
