Includes a long and admiring introduction and closure by Robert Ardrey. Finally printed in 1969, this work was written in the early part of the 20th century, after the author had studied and lived in close proximity to wild chacma baboons for three years. Complementing this work, the previous owner, R. B. Cowles, professor of biological science at UCSB, has provided many written knowledgeable comments, entered into the margins of he book, extending the information and critiquing the content, as well. Clean copy, with Professor Cowles bookplate on front endpaper. Not ex-library, not remaindered.Shelved in completely smoke-free environment.
