About this Item

8 Chapters, each chapter paginated separately. This manual was prepared to provide an updated and more inclusive version of the unclassified ACSI, DA Publication, "Military Operations of the Soviet Army," (USAITAD Report No. 14-U-76), produced in 1976, for wide distribution within the service schools and at all levels of command. The manual is based on unclassified publications and ranges from short articles published in military periodicals to full length books on operations and tactics. The content is also based on the doctrine and tactics evidenced in open Soviet writings and training. The general trend has been to utilize Soviet terminology, where possible, with an accompanying explanation. In some sections on tactical combat actions, the Soviet motorized rifle regiment has been selected as the organization for detailed treatment. Contents: Part I - Doctrine and Organization. Part II - Maneuver Operations (Offensive Operations, Defensive Operations). Part III - Support Operations (Combat Support Operations, Combat Service Support Operations. Part IV - Special Operations and Conditions (Airborne Operations, Assault River Crossings, Amphibious Operations, Mountains, Extreme Cold, Desert). Previous owners name penned neatly on top corner of soft cover. Inventory #26-000815-1723. Bookseller Inventory # 000815
