Illustrated paper covered boards. 131 pp. A discussion of the use of airplanes and aerial warfare during World War I, recalling the adventures of various pilots, including warfare in Italy, France, French missions in Moscow, etc. Jacques Mortane (real name Joseph Jacques Philippe Romanet) was a French author and journalist who specialized in aviation. FAIR condition. Heavy chipping and deterioration to the paper along the spine, with moderate loss, flaking and peeling, with the covers somewhat weakly attached along the hinges. Old tape repairs/scars present along the spine/hinges. Moderate soiling and heavy uneven darkening. Extremities scuffed and worn. Owner's signature present. Paper very toned.
