Title: Speisetischszenen im Alten Orient AVO17 ...
Book Condition: New
In this volume the results of the project "Banquet and Grave," sponsored by the University of Vienna, are published objects found in the Middle East and Egypt. The theme was sponsored by the Austrian "Fonds zur FÃ rderung der wissenschaftlichen Forschung" (FWF). The project itself deals with comparative studies of the main pictorial subjects of sepulchral art and the concepts portrayed therein in the Worlds of the Etrusco-Italians, the Greeks, and Asia Minor from the 8th through 3rd centuries BC. The monuments from the Middle East are the stelae and sculptures from the North-Syrian kingdoms (written by Ellen Rehm); the Egyptian objects come mostly from richly furnished graves (written by Christian Eder).
