Leather lightly rubbed, light scattered foxing, else very good. P&W 4953. Confederate Hundred 60. Robert E. Lee's copy, with a presentation bookplate on front pastedown, "Gen. Robert E. Lee, from the Publishers." This work is dedicated to Jefferson Davis "whose genius has not only organized an army but has achieved the still greater task of maintaining and strengthening it, amid circumstances the most unfavorable, until it has become in numbers, spirit, devotion, and efficiency, more formidable than it has ever before been, evern after a period of over thirty months of active warfare."
