About this Item

Signed hardcover with dust jacket in excellent condition; red boards with red metallic lettering on the cover and spine. Hinges and binding are firm and the 251 pages are printed on a thicker stock of paper. The pages are crisp, clean and unmarked and the author's message, date and signature are written on the ffep. There are 100 vintage, photographs that beautifully compliment the wealth of information written on these pages. The author chronicles the history and life of the families living at Ridgewood Ranch, home to racing champion Seabiscuit , including her time and adventures there. The mylar protected dust jacket is also in excellent condition with the only noticeable flaw being a slight amount of chipping at the spine top. Included in the book are rare photos of Seabiscuit, a list of Seabiscuit's 108 foals and their money earned, Seabiscuit's Handicap Racing Record, and a timeline of 200 years recording the people and the land that came to be known as Ridgewood Ranch. Ms. Buron shares her memories of the legendary horse whose big heart, determination, intelligence and physical prowess placed him among Thoroughbred immortals.
