About this title

Our spirits are meant to laugh--not continuously, but perhaps more frequently than they do. And, humor is a spiritual gift of God to the human family, given to all of God's children through the Holy Spirit. These two ideas guide Danny Morris' life and ministry. This book leads readers to find the humor within themselves and to use their own stories to bring joy to others.

About the Author:

Danny E. Morris is now retired after forty-six years of ministry. He served on the staff of Upper Room Ministries of Nashville, Tennessee, for more than twenty-five years. He initiated the Upper Room Prayer Ministry with 425 prayer groups throughout the world. He also introduced the Cursillo, which later became the Walk to Emmaus, into the United Methodist Church, and started the Academy for Spiritual Formation, a two-year program which has been completed by more than eight hundred people. In addition, he founded the Five-Day Academy, which has been attended by more than 3400 persons. Prior to his tenure with Upper Room, Morris served as a pastor in Florida. Together with Sam Teague, he developed the "Ten Brave Christians" program for spiritual renewal. His book that launched this program, A Life that Really Matters, has recently been rewritten and updated under the same title. Danny E. Morris has created a compact disc about humor and a web page dealing with spirituality and humor entitled He lives in Middle Tennessee. He and his wife, Rosalie, have three grown children--Alan, David, and Diana--and nine grandchildren.
