Book is signed on front free endpaper "D. I. Ruggles, U.S.A. March 1st, 1852 A Company 5th Infantry." The book itself is subtitled, "Containing Full Instructions in all that relates to the Breeding, Rearing, Breaking, Kennelling and Condition of Dogs; Together with Numerous Valuable Receipts for the Treatment of the Various Diseases to Which the Canine Race is Subject. As Also a Few Remarks on Guns, Their Loading and Carriage, Designed Expressly for the Use of Young Sportsmen." Good copy of the first edition. Includes illustrations of Cockers, Pointers, Beagles and Setters. Nice Confederate autograph, and the book is quite rare even without the autograph. Good copy of the first edition. Lower corner staining throughout and the lower right cover of the front cover has a rip. No dust jacket. 62 pages. Seller Inventory # 31574
