This large and detailed map of Europe was published in late 1942 or early 1943 by Geographia Map Company of New York. The image was compiled under the careful direction of Alexander Gross (1879-1958), an English cartographer and member of the Royal Geographic Society. Though there were few American troops yet engaged in Europe, combat was erupting across North Africa and on the Eastern Front. Major railways are shown, along with steamship routes and their respective distances. Insets on the right side present maps of Iceland, Alaska, and the South Pacific (Australia & Oceania). Condition B+ Condition Description "Large map with creasing and moderate wear along fold lines. Small spots of separation, about 2" each, at fold intersections. Minor wear along the outer edges of the sheet, including creased corners and faint soiling. About good condition overall.".
