Quarto sized volume in mustard colored cloth decorated and lettered in red and black with spine lettering gilt and gilt depiction of Faneuil Hall. 378 pp. Numerous folding plates and maps as wll as full page engravings and vignette engravings in the text. Large panoramic folding plate at rear "View of the Ruins after the Great Fire in Boston, from a point opposite Trinity Church, Summer St." . Second edition, with additions and updated from the 1882 edition. Lovely volume of views of Boston, from colonial days through the Revolution and into the 19th century. In addition to the images of places, buildings and people, this volume also includes reproductions of such things as colonial currency, old fire engines, documents, etc. A solid very good or better example, gilt bright, some wear at the spine ends.
