first edition, half title: Bishop Hobart's Statement.; 99 pp., in never bound signatures with thread tie and untrimmed; general age toning and a few tips broken off, not exceptionally fragile but needs careful handling, name of a previous owner, John Van Nostrand, on title; written as a reply to "Solemn Appeal to the Church" by Rev. Cave Jones, an assistant at Trinity Church, but part of a pamphlet battle that started the previous year; Bishop Hobart feels there has been a secret, systematic plotting that he and his High Church views be "kept down" and Jones' actions have be so outrageous that they even cannot even be encompassed by the "precepts of personal forgiveness", Bookseller Inventory # ZB508674
