Synopsis: These memoirs were written by a twenty-three-year-old girl, in Lithuanian, on small sheets of paper. They were then packed into a glass jar and buried under a bed of peonies. She wrote about her will to survive in spite of the most horrific hardships, and about her determination not to give in to oppression, regardless of the sacrifice involved, and of the desire not to compromise humanity even when confronted with the most appalling brutality....
